Sun Hockey is a Minnesota Corporation that was founded by Mr. John Gill in June 1990. Mr. Gill was one of the first individuals to recognize an exciting new sport developing called street hockey, and was the first to see a need for a street hockey roller puck that could be used in conjunction with in-line skates. The following products were designed to meet that need.
Mr. Gill, through a long process of research and development, designed the company's first product called the Hot Puck. This product debuted at the National Sporting Goods Show in July 1990.
Since this introductory date, Sun Hockey has sold over 2,000,000 units to major sporting goods stores and distributors throughout the United States, Canada, and Europe. The Street Puck II was brought to the market in 1992. Mr. Gill designed this slightly larger version of the Hot Puck, specifically for rougher blacktop and concrete streets.
In 1993, Sun Hockey introduced a third product, the Arena Puck, which is designed and marketed towards league and tournament play on extremely smooth surfaces.
Sun Hockey expanded it's product line in July of 1995 to include the Zero Ball. A patented liquid injected street hockey ball, the Zero Ball recieved extremely favorable reviews from street hockey players worldwide. Major street hockey tournaments from coast to coast, including the NHL Breakout '97, are adopting the Zero Ball, and proclaiming it as the "Official Tournament ball". The Zero Ball is produced in cold, warm and hot weather versions, plus a glow in the dark version.
Sun Hockey completed it's "Z" product line with the introduction of the Zero Puck in November of 1996. A patented puck who's revolutionary design makes it the first and only, street hockey puck to duplicate an ice puck on a rough surface. The Zero Puck is available in smooth and rough surface versions for both hot and cold weather.
Rounding out Sun Hockey's innovative line of products are the pulse products. Demand for the Pulsar Puck which is co-branded and marketed by Disney, the NHL, and Fox TV, is exploding, especially in Europe.
